Charlotte's Web is a 1973 film produced by Hanna-Barbera and released by Paramount Pictures. It is the story about a runt pig who meets a spider. The story was based by the book Charlotte's Web by E.B. White

Summary

The movie begins when John Arable's sow gives birth to a litter of 11 piglets. In the beginning of the movie, 10 piglets are nursing from the sow when a tiny white runt appears. The runt is no match for his bigger and stronger siblings, and he struggles to feed. The sow is fast asleep while the runt is pushed around. John Arable, however, sees the runt as a nusience. He decides to kill it, but his 10-year-old daughter, Fern, pleads for the tiny pig's life. She tells him that it is absurd to kill the runt just because it's smaller than the others. John agrees and gives the piglet to Fern to be raised as a pet.

Fern names the piglet Wilbur. She bottle feeds the tiny pig and gives him a bath. At 2 weeks old, Wilbur is moved outdoors, but his first night outside is horrible. At 6 weeks old, Wilbur has grown bigger. John tells Fern that Wilbur has to be sold. Fern begins to sob, but John is firm. His brothers and sisters were already sold and Wilbur was no longer a piglet. Fern sadly says goodbye as the young pig is sold down the road to Fern's uncle Homer Zuckerman.

At the Zuckermans' farm, Wilbur is all alone. One day, when cold weather sets in, a ram tells Wilbur that he is to be killed. Poor Wilbur is heartbroken, but that night he hears a voice: a spider named Charlotte A. Cavatica. Charlotte is determined to save Wilbur, so she makes four webs: "Some Pig", "Terrific", "Radiant" and "Humble". Wilbur goes to a fair and wins a medal. Fern grows up and starts dating a boy named Henry Fussy.

Charlotte dies at the fair, but her 514 children live in the farmyard. Three of the young spiders stay with Wilbur, as the others leave the farm. Although Wilbur loved Charlotte's children and grandchildren, none of them ever replaced Charlotte.
