Daniel Louis Castellaneta (born October 29, 1957, in Chicago) is an American comic actor, best known for his voice work on The Simpsons. In Scooby-Doo! Pirates Ahoy!, he did voices for Mr. Mysterio and Wooden Leg Wally.
- At first, for the voice of Homer Simpson, Castellaneta tried to imitate Walter Matthau, but he had trouble with certain emotional registers and intonations with the voice, so he slightly changed the present voice of Homer at the beginning of the second season of The Simpsons (1989).
- His voice characterization of Krusty the Clown on The Simpsons was based on Chicago television legend Bob Bell, who portrayed WGN-TV's "Bozo" from 1960 to 1984.
- Like Casey Kasem, Castellaneta is a vegetarian and a teetotaler.
