Summary[]

Pete is chasing a cat, which ends at the estate of a wealthy woman and her poodle, Yvette De Fur, with whom Pete falls in love and learns she is entered into a dog show. Pete heads to the dog show at the Grand Hotel, where he discovers Waldo bringing his pedigree dog into the hotel. Then, the Rascals, driving in the street in their homemade vehicle, see Waldo, and when Spanky slams on the brakes, their vehicle crashes into another vehicle, and the Rascals' car is destroyed. Spanky promises to beat Waldo by entering Pete in the dog show, and eventually, Pete, who was filthy, is escorted out of the hotel since he was never registered. After the Rascals' vehicle is put back together, Pete is put back in the car with the gang, and they drive away.

Unbeknownst to the Rascals, a trio of suspicious guys posing as laundry workers are in the area, plotting to kidnap Pete. Soon afterwards, the Rascals try to give Pete a bath by using one of Buckwheat's inventions, which efficiently cleans the dog. Now, the dog show is about to start, and guests along with their dogs enter the facility. The Rascals, dressed in wealthy attire and 1920s outfits, bring Pete into the event. Porky stands near the food table, and is eager to eat the food intended for the guests. The bad guys plot to kidnap Yvette De Fur and Prince Romanoff, and the thugs use their black cat to help lure their victims into custody. The cat runs in as the first place trophy is about to be presented. Waldo's dog, Prince, wins first place, and is given a serving of dog food, which Pete eats. The bad guys kidnap Pete, assuming he is Prince, and steals Prince's trophy as well.

As the Rascals follow the kidnappers to their hideout, the gang encounter an adult duck and some ducklings crossing the street, to which Spanky yields. When the bad guys arrive at the Downtown Laundry facility, they remove Yvette and Pete from their sacks, but when it is discovered that Prince is actually Pete, he is tossed out of the facility and into the parking lot.

As the bad guys play cards, Pete sneaks into the facility, under a carton, to free Yvette. After Pete successfully rescues the poodle, the two dogs try to escape, but one of sneezes from inside the soap carton, and the bad guys catch them trying to escape and chase the dogs, who are ultimately cornered at a dead end. As the bad guys try to capture them again, Pete snarls aggressively, and the bad guys fall into a gigantic laundry tub and are washed. Then it turns to the spin cycle, and they get dizzy, and finally to the dry cycle, where a fan dries them. The Rascals, accompanied by Officer Ed, arrive at the scene of the crime to arrest the bad guys. Yvette kisses Pete on the cheek, and the ring around his left eye forms a heart-shaped outline, then a full red valentine.
