Skatebirds was Hanna-Barbera's attempt in 1977 to duplicate the popularity of The Banana Splits Adventure Hour. Airing on CBS, the show featured costumed actors on roller skates, in the characters of a woodpecker, a pigeon, a pelican and a cat. It also included two animated segments, The Robonic Stooges and Wonder Wheels, and a serialized live-action segment, Mystery Island.
