"Augie" Anderson is a member of the Funky Phantom Crew and one of the main protagonists in The Funky Phantom. He was voiced by Tommy Cook.
About Augie[]
Augie has simple black eyes and brown hair. In regards to his attire, he is most often depicted wearing a red jacket covering a white turtleneck with beige pants and white sneakers. While it is indicated from official material consistently putting his name in quotes that "Augie" is a nickname, it is not established what it is a nickname for (even if it is likely either August or Augustus).
He is Skip's "rival" as well as being one of his, Mudsy and April Stewart's best friends. He has a bulldog named Elmo whom he has had since he was a puppy. Frequently, he brags about Elmo especially by claiming Elmo's moments of innovation are a result of his training or influence, though he sometimes berates him - demonstrating the arrogance and short temper he can have. The former can also be found in how much he brags about his own strength and physical attributes - which he diligently looks after. He's not limited to exclusively brawn, however, and the episode "Ghost Town Ghost" allows him some character focus separate from Skip and April - featuring him being the one to, with Mudsy's help, create a plan to save the former two from harm in turn giving spotlight to his problem solving and considerate sides that are otherwise often overlooked.
He and Skip often clash due to their opposing personalities and occasionally over April's attention, albeit are still established to be firm, close friends who can work effectively together when needed. Both he and Skip are players on Central High's football team as shown in "Pigskin Predicament" - specifically, Augie is the team's halfback. He and April are close, with the two of them sticking together in earlier episodes when they would split up to search for clues and choosing to spend time together when the Crew visit the beach to surf - though April can be short with him when he's brash or doesn't take things seriously. Due to his strength and general stature, April and Skip often take to hiding behind him or holding onto him when surprised/scared/threatened and he is both a member of a glider club and built a catamaran in the comics which he used as opportunities to take his friends out.
