Lou Richards (born September 3, 1951, in Perryton, Texas) is an American actor. For Hanna-Barbera, he was the voice of Galtar on Galtar and the Golden Lance and Leader-1 on Challenge of the GoBots.

Born to a military family, Lou Richards attended Scotch Plains Fanwood High School in New Jersey and Brunswick High School in Maine. He also attended schools in Hawaii, Alabama and California.

As a student at Texas Tech University, Richards got involved in college radio at KTXT. His first commercial job was doing the all-night shift at KLBK in Lubbock, Texas. He went on to be a DJ at KKUA in Honolulu and landed a few small roles in Hawaii Five-O. That's when the acting bug took over and he moved to Los Angeles to "pursue the dream".

Of all his television roles, Richards claims that his favorite was working in Gloria, a sitcom spin-off of All in the Family in which Sally Struthers played a veterinarian. "I was being paid to show up every day and be silly. It doesn't get much better than that." From his cartoon voice work, he says he enjoyed working most of all with Frank Welker.
