Matthew Gray Gubler (born March 9, 1980, in Las Vegas) is an American actor. He was the voice of Winsor in Scooby-Doo! Legend of the Phantosaur.
Biography
Like his character, Spencer Reid, from the CBS series Criminal Minds (2005), Matthew Gray Gubler comes from Las Vegas. While he was at NYU film school, a model scout discovered him and Gubler worked for Tommy Hilfiger, Marc Jacobs and American Eagle, among others. His sister Laura Dahl is a fashion designer based in New York. After he began his modeling career, Matthew had an internship with Wes Anderson, who offered him the role of Nico (Intern #1) in The Life Aquatic with Steve Zissou (2004). Soon afterward, Gubler was catapulted into the limelight as Dr. Spencer Reid, a genius in the Behavioural Analysis Unit at the FBI.
Although he's an exceptional actor, Gubler's first love is filmmaking. He has starred in several mockumentaries that parody his life behind the scenes of Criminal Minds.
Gubler took to the director's chair for season 5, episode 16, "Mosley Lane", and season 6, episode 18, "Lauren". He will be directing season 7, episode 19.
