Summary[]
The United States experiences a nationwide blackout caused by aliens who drained all of the energy from the country's major power generators, and plan to drain the entire energy supply from Earth and shrink all of its residents and send them to the aliens' planet.
Trivia[]
- This segment is loosely based on The Day the Earth Stood Still, which was a black-and-white film from 1951. This segment featured aliens, as in the film.
- This is the only Zillion Dollar Adventures segment in Season 2 in which Gloria wears a pink sweater instead of her pink vest. She also wore it in many of the Gems segments during Season 2. This would become the new standard the following season.
- One of the aliens in this episode, Grork, sounds reminiscent of Glomer in the Ruby-Spears production It's Punky Brewster, and Braker Turtle in the DiC Production The Get Along Gang. Both of those characters were voiced by Frank Welker.
