Vance Colvig was the first actor to play Bozo the Clown on American TV, in 1949.
He was an American comic actor, long with Disney; billed as Pinto Colvig, he was the voice of Goofy and Pluto. He began his performing career as a clown in vaudeville and later worked as a writer and cartoonist for the San Francisco Bulletin. In Hollywood from the 1920s, he started with Mack Sennett at Keystone as a gag writer, scenarist and animator.
According to the Internet Movie Database, Colvig also had roles in such films as For the Love of It (1980), American Pop (1981) and Hard Time on Planet Earth (1989).
